Business Report

The LIFESTEPS® Management Team develops a business plan each year that includes goals and objectives related to leader training and development, program development, evaluation and marketing. Major accomplishments in these areas over the last three years include:

Evaluation

  • Development and pilot testing of an outcome survey instrument.
  • Initiation of a multi-year evaluation project.
  • Analysis of data completed by graduate student during 2010.  Submitted for publication.

Leader Training and Development

  • Initiation of an online leader training course in February 2006.
  • Ninety leaders trained via the online course from 2006-2009.

Program Development

  • Addition of MyPyramid components completed in November 2005.
  • Leaders surveyed for input on video components of the program in 2007.
  • “Trigger” videos revised and made available to leaders in January 2008.
  • Website redesign completed in February 2008.
  • New Orientation video "One Step At A Time" completed January 2009 .
  • Update of Participant Notebook and revision of Leader Guide available in June 2010.

Leader Training and Development

  • The number of program participants increased from 631 in 2005 to over 1000 annually from 2007-2010.

Marketing

  • Postcard advertising the online leader training course mailed to:
    • ADA Weight Management DPG, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
    • American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (RD and RN members), 2007.
  • LIFESTEPS exhibited at FNCE’s Product Marketplace in 2006-2009.

Is to provide a behaviorally and cognitively based weight management program for adult consumers designed to assist them in making lifestyle changes in eating and physical activity behaviors when delivered by a trained health professional.
